Ha, the primitive website is live. There's way too much text, I know. There's a link back to ParrotForums and one to the AAV vet search. Comments appreciated.

My vague apprehension is that this landing page will be redesigned with multiple smart thingies to check where people are coming from, what search terms brought them, and offer different content based on that. Sheesh.

Now we all know what you have been doing when not hanging around Parrot Forums!

There are a couple of spots that have either a word use issue or missing a word or two. Maybe a good idea to have one of our word experts review it!

Love the Website!

I think this looks fantastic!

Nothing compared to what you can do, you've actually got training in making things look good on computers. Some day I will tempt you into making us a logo, o talented one!

Beautiful! The pictures are eye catching and the subject matter interesting. Can't wait to see it develop.

Checked out the site today, looks good so far! One thing though is I would work with Wix's designer for the mobile version of the page because it's a bit difficult to navigate on the average phone. I have a bit of experience with Wix, and it's very easy to optimize the mobile version.

Great suggestion...that was something I really liked about WordPress- it was easy to display in tablet or phone mode. The Wix template has large images which don't suit the phone, they must have a forum. Will check.

You're able to edit the mobile version without affecting the main page, so you can use smaller images or resize things. Once you play around with it, it's pretty easy to figure out. If I remember right you do have to do each page individually though, it's been about a year or more since I redid someone's website in Wix. The easiest thing to do is to create a dummy page that isn't linked to anything until you're happy with the design.

Oh..I bet that's a function od the Wix Editor. I've been using the ADI interface so far because it makes it easy to add elements and animations, scrolls, etc. ...but you can't add HTML code, so the last thing I do is open the site in the Editor and insert the PayPal button, then upload. Then I restore the last ADI version and keep editing, because changes made in the Editor don't carry back to the ADI. I'm getting near the point of switching permanently, though, so I'll start looking at Editor features. Thanks for the heads-up.

OOOH! This looks amazing! I love that you put community and vets above other stuff. I'd say they're the 2 most important things for a human to have at their disposal

This could legitimately be a top source of info once fleshed out

I intend for the info there to be good, but secondary. People can only learn so much reading by themselves. I hope to bump most people immediately to Parrotforums.com, have some emergency medical information in case someone is in need so they don't spend time going somewhere else, and then have some condensed information on various topics. I think the best thing is for people thinking about getting a parrot is to talk it over with other parrot owners, find out the real deal, get some support and confirmation that they are ready. A community like this is ten times better than any wiki.

very true. I spent a long time looking on many forums, spoke a lot to my friend who has a couple parrots and looking at what I'm sure was every article on the Green Cheeks ever. I think I learnt more int he time I spent researching them than I had learnt during my entire time in school!
