Alexandrine Parakeet
Hello everyones,
I have an Alex Parakeet, a male one, he yells all time! His yelling has made us very headached at the early morning (about 6am). I do not know why? Firstly, I thought that he was so boring so my daughters and I talked to him whenever we see him, such as the early morning, noon, evening! Giving him the wooden toys, touching him, carrying him on motor and bicycle go around the street,...But no results. So I need your help to give us the advises for this problem!
Thanks and best regards,
Paul

His calling is not uncommon Paul
infact totally normal it's called the morning chorus
birds will call early each morning in the wild to establish which members of the flock made it thru the night and again at evening to bring all members together before night fall
unfort because he is not caged you can not cover it to make it darker for longer in the morning
possibly try blacking out the windows etc make it as dark as possible

Also what kind if stimulation does he get during the day ?
These parrots have very active minds
my baby who is 7 weeks spends almost all his awake time playing with toys of all kinds , splashing in the water , destroying the leaves on the bird safe branchs I give him each morning , he loved chasing his ball around and having cuddles and time out with us

As you can tell from above there's not much time he sits still doing nothing
his mind is constantly stimulated
can you provide some more stimulation for your bird ?
Have a look in the diy section and in goggle at playgyms ( home made ) perhaps you could try something like this
get the kids involved in making it and making him new toys
remember to swap toys every month so they don't get board

Provide him the play stand for a few hours each day but not as a constant perch
it needs to be a reward for quite behaviour and a positive fun experiance for him

Good luck

Hello Pheonix Rising and Antoinette,
Thank you...thank you so much! I have done what you have shared to me and good results, It is so suprise! I have given him the new toy, light color toys, such as red cover of bottles, ...He has passed in stressful!
I am going to marry for him a female, but the female is still hate him and bite him when he comes closing to her, I have to be patient with him and step by step for this matter!
It is so nice to have your good advises.
Have a good time with your loves!
Thanks and best regards,
Paul
