Some red fronted Kakarikis are a gorgeous almost reflective bright emerald green and yet others are a dull green? Is this due to different variety, age, sex or what?

I breed both red fronted and yellow crowned Kakarikis.. Honestly, its mostly to do with how good their diet is. Also my young Kaks didnt get those full on eye popping vibrant colours until they were about 8-12 months old. One took until 14 months.. But it is mostly due to diet. There are cinnamon Kakarikis (my thoughts: YUCK!!) and that can make the green a dull lime-ish green colour.
