Bella (Vosmaeri Eclectus Female) + Dexter (Red Sided Eclectus Male) + Gerry (Vosmaeri Eclectus Male)
The trio went to the vet today. Everyone there just expects to have to towel parrots. So I made sure I got them out of their carriers before it could be suggested! One of the vets seemed shocked by how well behaved and compliant the ekkies were, surprised they were able to just... well... handle them!

The vets question...
"Why are your birds so good?"

The answer...
Parrot Forums (I've had lots of good advice :D)

Then Dexter decided to show me up by not wanting to go back in his carrier until the vet left the room. What with being a hermit, I hadn't realised how shy Dexter is with strangers before. Anyway, Dexter is coming back for bloodworks next, followed by Gerry (on a day he hasn't already been bleeding), so I guess Bella will have the same a bit later on.

Good job!!! I have that same issue lol.

At our last visit Nohea flew up to the top of a cabinet. The vet then offered to clip her wings, which I declined. He said he would get a tech to come help catch her, I said that wouldn’t be necessary, and I called her. So she came.

We aren’t going back to that vet for various reasons but he was absolutely shocked when my bird flew to me. I’m not saying she always comes when I call, but she knows what I mean and USUALLY agrees lol.

yea I get the same reactions. When I took jojo to the university cause of her broken beak the vet was impressed with how sweet he was. No bites or anything. She held him and did her inspection and he just let her hold him in her palm with no resistance. He's the only one of my birds that doesn't mind being on his back so in any position of being held he just calmly let her do the exam. they checked his vent and hydration levels under his wings (the vet was teaching a student how to do an exam on a parrot). He let her pull out his wings too. I was very proud of him that day. people ask everytime I take them somewhere "they don't fly away?"

No, they don't (granted they are clipped lol)
