I went by the pet shop today and they had a White fronted amazon being kept for boarding.

No information on him/her as far as age or gender (or even a name),

You don't see these guys every day so I thought I would share the short video I made.

HE would bite my finger fairly hard and when I would say ouch and pull away he would laugh.

really cute.

SO beautiful Wade! I always thought these should be called the USA parrots for the red, white and blue, so vivid, on their heads. Remember Mr. Biggles? He was also a white fronted.

White-Fronted Amazons create a soft place in my heart. They are such lovers, but so rare now a days. Love the linking; finger bit, Ouch! and laughter! Clearly this one knows the routine... Gotta, love it! :D

I can’t stop thinking about him.

The dangers of visiting a pet shop that has birds when you have MBS.

Looks like I was wrong.

The white fronted Amazon WILL be for sale.
He/she is in a holding pattern at the store to make sure it’s healthy.
No idea on price

I see MBS rearing it's ugly head

(Quietly) MBS... MBS.... MBS... MBS....

LOL

I just read up on them. They don’t breed well in captivity, so chances are he was wild caught. They can also be sexed by visual alone, no DNA testing required.

In addition, they are extremely friendly to people even in the wild! And there are large populations in Southern California and I forget which other state. They’re also one of the smaller Amazons.

Man, sounds like a fantastic species, and gorgeous.

Resistance is useless! :D

Resistance is useless! :D

Turn in your Borg credentials:

Resistance is FUTILE!

Turn in your "Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy" credentials! Reistance IS useless :D

Wow! That was years before the Borg!

Sure was Ira! And I think in texsize's case, the Vogons and the Borg might both be right, resistance may well be useless AND futile :D

I really can’t take on another bird. Especially another screamer.
But I do want to get her story. I have to go back and talk to the owner of the store.

Been there twice bit she was not there or busy.

I just got back from visiting my little green friend.:green2:

This is what I was told by the main person at the store.

The bird is a rescue and the age is a guessed at 8 months.
Tentative price is 1,800.00 US dollars. :18::18:

I am not trying to sell for the store and I get nothing from it. But I would like to see her go to a good home and not sit around the store for a long time.
I think the age MAY be close because her tail is kind of tattered the way young bird tails tend to be.

In what way or for what reason the bird is a rescue I do not know. The store person I spoke with did not seam to want to volunteer any more info than that. If I was a buyer I would press for more info but as I don't have any plans to buy this bird I will file it under "none of my business" .

I took some photos but they did not turn out real good but I can post 1 or 2 of them if requested.
