Hello to everyone reading
So my 3 month old budgie has been wheezing, rubbing his nose on objects and his tail is bobbing occasionally since last night.
No nasal discharge, checked his nose for possible clogging (not clogged), droppings look normal, also he eats and preens as normal.
He's in warm environment, provided with seed and veggies diet, has toys and allowed to wander around freely and safely.

What could be the problem? And since I haven't got access to a vet, is there anything I can do for him at home?

(Also, could birds catch COVID-19 from people?)

Hello and welcome,

you will need to find access to a veterinarian.
Other members are good at providing links on how to search your corner of the world.
Besides avian vets that many of us drive 2 hours to get to, their are some good exotic vets, zoos, universities, agricultural, ect. You can try asking your breeder or petstores who they use.

Your bird is going to need treatment to survive. This is a very sick bird.

Likely a bacterial infection that's the vet will prescribe antibiotics for. And most respond quickly to the treatment.

Please take good care of him.

Haven't heard of any parrots catching covid

It could be anything honestly from a respiratory infection to air sac mites. Best to get him to a vet as meds for both those things are not easy to get, and bird issues are hard to diagnose on your own. It's good to start a relationship with an avian vet if you have a bird, they really are specialists.

Thanks for your advice!
He's healthy and bright, the respiratory problem went away fortunately.

thanks for the recommendation! He's actually doing very well. I've come in contact with an avian vet for better bird care.

We have a parrot with chronic sinus issuses, and a humidifier/keeping proper humidity levels might help you out here too. Glad to hear your little guy is feeling better.
