What's up with this?

I really need to know if this is playing around or something is wrong with my conure Cooper... He is at the bottom of the cage rolling on his back and just laying there trying to bite the bedding..... He is like go up and down the cage kinda like hyper... He doesnt look sick or anything and Im worried something happened to him... Any advice???

I know a lot of conures love to roll on their backs, (not mine) but my daughters does that on the bed. Probably just playing if everything else is fine? Has he done this before or have you had him that long?

My sun conure rolls all over on her back. She is very playful. I would bet yours is just playing too. As long as everything else is fine I wouldn't worry.

I had a Conure years ago... She loved to roll on her back and play! It seems to be a thing that Conures love to do

had him for a week, seems fine but weird, he was bitting and clinging to me while he was on his back. i was able to move him around on his back, is this normal play thanks

I've had my GCC for a little over a week and every day I'm seeing new behavior. A couple days ago, he decided to explore the bottom of his cage. He climbed down, decided it wasn't for him and climbed right back up the other side. It might just be something he likes to do and just got comfortable enough to do it.

100% normal behavior! My GCC does summersaults and side rolls. Molly will lay on her back an play with a ball. You just have a playful one!

Not only do many conures like to roll on their back, some like to sleep on their back! Many a conure owner has had an awful fright when they discover a seemingly 'dead' bird lying on the bottom of the cage (who magically comes back to life as soon as the owner wakes the bird up).
