What's this in my bird's eye?

Something strange has been popping in one of my bird's eyes. It started some months ago, but it's been happening more often.

It looks like some sort of speck. It's usually very tiny, but this time it's larger than usual and she's having trouble shutting her right eye properly. Her left eye is always fine.

Has anybody seen or experienced this before?

Some kind of growth is my guess. But really, you should have a AVAIN vet look at him. Def not a cat and dog vet. best wishes for the little guy.

Looks like maybe a wisp of feather causing irritation? If you had saline you could try to wash it out.

My Lucy used to get crud in her bad eye and then rub it on a perch and make it worse. Be careful!

Hmm, what do you mean by that? Like an extra piece of skin growing around her eyelid? And yes, I've set up an appointment with an avian, it's in a couple of days. I was curious though and wanted to help her in the meantime.

I hope that's the case! What I find weird is that it's always in the same eye, and they keep varying in size every time they appear. I think I have some saline, yeah, I might give it a try. Do you know the best way to apply it?

Oh, ok, this has happened before? At first I thought she’d gotten a little fluff in there and it created a booger, sort of crystallized by tear salts.

With the squeeze bottle salines I would just squeeze it over the eye to see if you can wash it out. Is it bothering your bird? If it isn’t maybe you want to leave it alone so the vet can see it as is.

Poor bird! Yes if this has happened before it would be good for the vet to figure out what this is; if it’s concerning or if you ought to just wash it out.
