RIP Constantine: Jenday Conure
For the past month, my dad and I have turned our cabin's sun porch into my new bedroom. I've had plans to turn much of my new space into a bird playground: not playgym. Playground. I just put together the first of many 'trees' that will grace the room. They've been on it for 20 minutes and I haven't heard a peep. Their beaks are full of branch! I consider this a success!

The tree is parrot safe and for a base I've used a cinderblock with a few scrap lenghts of PVC to wedge the trunk in place. This is only a test tree to see how the girls like it and to gauge how many I can fit in my room.

That's great! You're room is going to be full of toothpicks soon! :p

Wow. Love it! Will it be warm enough out there during Nebraska winters?

What kind of tree is that. It looks great. What other things do you have in mind for the playground?

Can Carlisle and Kayak come over and play? I wish I had the space to do that for my guys. Some day :)

Yeah I'll be vacuuming a lot but that's ok. It's loads of fun watching them play in the tree. It'll be warm enough since I sleep in there myself and have a bird safe heater set at 77 degrees that comes on when it senses it has to. I can't remember the name of the tree but it's in my good parrotkeeping book on the safe list. As for ideas, I've planned a hanging gym and another tree across from that one that's connected by the hanging gym and then something to go in front of one of the windows. There will be branches everywhere!

I'd love to have more birds play on the tree! It'd be like a weird christmas tree with kick butt decorations!
