If you have a Sun Conure,
from day 1 it is not that friendly...
the owner spends a lot of time with it
and at most it is willing to take a Sunflower seed from the owner's hand.
Other than that, it always bits the fingers so hard until they bleed
whenever the owner wanna touch it... or even attempt to touch it...

If you were the owner, what would you do?

My sunny bites too! If you read my last post you'll see the wonderful advice I was given about her on there.

I'd say welcome to the wonderful world of being owned by a Sun Conure, I had the priveledge of having Attie (short for "Attitude" if that tells you anything) with me for about 20 years, I handfed her from about 4 weeks old, while I had a great relationship with her she still bit me, hard at time too, maybe its just the nature of the beast for Sun's, I would say the question is not what we would do, but what would their heart allow them to do, keep working with the bird and hoping for a better relationship?, and if not, excepting that this may be the best its going to get, or possibly finding a loving home with maybe someone that is more experienced with birds that present a challenge, many people get discouraged and give up, no longer interacting with the bird but are still emotionally attached, they love the bird but leave it alone for fear of being bit, not fair for the bird or those owned by it, it is a hard choice to make, but one that is theirs in the end......
