What type of bird is this?

My parents are in florida on vacation and sent me a picture of this little guy below. I have no idea what he is though. Looks small enough for a new owner but has an amazing color. Any info would be appreciated. Also i just realized I misspelled bird in my title and cant change it.

What he said ^. A beautiful eastern rosella. They're popular aviary birds, not so popular as companion parrots. And by that, I mean people like/keep them for their beauty, but they tend to be pretty wild.

That's what I read too that they're not good companion birds but someone off here have said they have had nice ones that were trained to be companion birds. None that I saw were like that though.
