Hi everyone. Just wondering what time everyone puts their fids to bed? Do you have a set time? I have a strict routine of 9pm at night where their cages are covered. They normally get a bit sleepy from 8pm.

My birds get 'half covered' at 6pm so that they know bedtime is coming up and by 7pm they're asleep when I go cover them completely. They wake up at 6pm sharp every day.

I don't cover cages either and our birds go to bed when we turn out the lights.

Where our birds are in the house, I can turn off most lights when it's nearing bedtime and that settles them into knowing it's almost time, then I tell them each "good night and I love you. Have a good sleep and happy dreams"...and then I switch off the last light and the tiels start their beak grinding and Franklin, our GCC whispers to himself...pretty pretty bird, sucha pretty bird...into sleepy land...it's soo adorable!

sun down and sun up....I try and keep it like mother nature would, and I cover my birds in the bedroom only.

Kiwi's normal bedtime is 9pm. He typically starts getting "cranky" around 8/8:30, so he usually gets his last flap around the living room and back to a half covered cage to eat/drink and calm down a little before we fully cover him. He's a good sleeper though, don't usually hear signs of life in the cage until around 7, and sometimes I get the impression he'd sleep until noon if I let him (typical teenage male:09:).

"Birdie bedtime" is 8:30 around here. From 6-8 is Jasper's play time apparently. This is the only time of the day that he makes some noise and plays around like a wild child. It's perfect because he wears himself out. Lol. Mangie prefers a little earlier time so she will put herself to be around 8 usually. My bird room is nice and dark so they usually sleep until about 7:30-8am even with all of us getting up at 6.

Up at six am.

Go to bed at ten pm.

They are on my schedule.

Cages around here don't get covered.

They all have outside the cage sleeping perches.

Same as crimson, they're on a solar schedule. Although I can hear by budgies twittering in the pre-dawn hours off and on :)

My finches and small birds upstairs go to bed at 7:30, and my big birds at 8:45. We stagger it so that everyone gets 12 hours of sleep:) Gives me time in the morning to get the food ready for all and get them up at different times as I dole out the food and fresh water:)

9:00 for mine. They get covered up, because they're in our dining room, which gets a lot of incoming light from our living room. In the morning they're uncovered at 06:45.

Ha ha yes they do get a bit cranky! They definitely let you know when they are ready for bed!

Dusk or when the blanket it put over their cage.

Rio usually settles down about 7-8 and put to bed by 8:30-9. One time she was so quiet I forgot to put her in her sleep cage until around 11. That was a mistake.

well bamboo gets covered around 8, but he wont sleep till all the lights are shut off, and you cant hear a thing. since i sleep really late, he sleeps after 10 too. he dusnt really mind, though. if no one comes to see him and say good morning by 6, he'll bring the house down screeching.
