Usually, when the flock starts getting out of character I can attribute it to something. I'd say 98% of the time it's definitely weather related, fronts moving in, storms, etc. There's a thread somewhere talking about barometric pressure affecting birds which my breeder and I both firmly believe in.

I'm not really asking for anything here advice wise, just making observations is all.

Today has been one of those 2% times I don't know why. I came back from grocery shopping today and my wife told me Miri got hard to handle while I was gone. She went to put her up preparing for me to bring in groceries when I got home, Miri was being totally wacko and she had to end up using a sheet to put her up.

A little later, we brought the Zon's into the office like usual and they were acting psycho, actually even biting the wife on the ear as well. They got put up pretty quick. Then after that, I went to get the GW's and bring them into the office. ReaRea was in full tilt play mode, but not in her usual way, I couldn't get her to quit biting me (not painful, no broken skin, etc.) but she was relentless. Then it was Miri, she would NOT leave ReaRea alone and it was getting out of hand, and I'd had enough. Miri was in her "I ain't going in that cage" stages and I was really having to tell her "no" to her beak threats. It was no big deal to me, I'm just trying to figure out what caused this in 4 birds all of a sudden.:31:

And after all that, I wasn't EVEN gonna get the Hahn's out.

You always get 4 that don't want to comply lol can't say 5 you left the hahn's in the cage if its the whether that's affecting them I'd be carefull as it could get worse over the days and you end up getting a full blown bite.

See I can be serious when i want to be. :)

Wharfrat, you always crack me up talking about your hahns! Here you have these two huge greenwings and you always say the hahns is the one that is the handful! I love hearing your stories!

The Hahn's is the only one that bites really hard and has a really sharp beak, and she's quick too. I actually have her out with me now in the office, of course it's hours later.

You gotta remember, this tiny lil' thing would try to take on a GW if given the chance, dang bird ain't scared of nuttin!!

So funny! Can she go out at the same time as the two greenwings? I'm trying to figure out what to do when I bring home Moses. I would like for my cag and Moses to go on the tree at the same time. I will just have to see how it goes.

Can she go out at the same time as the two greenwings?
No, she can only be out by herself unless I am right on top of her, she's gone after the GW's and the Zon's with NO hesitation.

Maybe you had an invisible intruder and your flock wasn't happy about it?

I've noticed when traveling with the zons and staying in Motels. I could always tell when the maid or manager had been in the room when we weren't there. The birds would act strange. Same with the outside aviary birds, i can tell when a coon has been around at night by the way the zons act in the AM.

Well, I still ain't figured it out. And Miri is STILL not happy with the wife. :(

Thank god we don't get coons where I live I hate the dang things but saying that I wouldn't care if they were where I lived if they intruded my garden our five dogs would have them lol.

we get coons, possums AND skunks around here. Pesky gritters

At least your birds are safe in the house it must be a nightmare for Richard as he has some aviary zons and them annoying coons are lurking around outside.

my breeder does as well but she has 2 dogs that take care of things.

It's so funny to see you post this! I was getting ready to post something similar but in regards to my Sassy goffins. She is BONKERS, today! Super feisty, even drew blood on my husband, who she adores! I was thinking it was maybe the moon but maybe feeling the change in seasons could be it, don't know?

Amigo hasn't been around since this morning, now I'm scared!! Hopefully, he'll be his same lovely self, (to me, anyway)!

Sometimes, at night, we'll hear Amigo sound off from his tree. My husband will jump up, flick the outside light on and run out just in time to see a cat or raccoon come flying out of the tree! Speaking of coons ;)
