- i am the mom of three parrots:
Dorothy- African grey (cag)
Bowie- blue and gold macaw
Nellie- hyacinth macaw
Reggie- hyacinth macaw
Marnie- white bellied caique
I am wondering if anyone has had this experience with their macaw. Every night I play on the floor with Moses. (7 month old greenwing) I find it's a great way for him to burn off a little energy before bedtime! For the past week and a half he has started to bob his head (look like he is trying to regurgitate) for me. He does this ALOT! He walks over and bobs and bobs his head. I spoke with the breeder about it because I thought that this was a wierd behavior for such a young bird. However I was told that it wasn't a sexual type behavior just a gesture of his attachment/love for me. Has anyone else experienced this? I have seen other birds do the head bob but not this often!
