Hello, I rescued a parrot yesterday, he is very scared and quiet (I think his previous owners were not the nicest people). I am not sure what type he is so if any of you can help me out, I would appreciate it very much. thanks you :yellow1:

Can't really tell, maybe a canary wing.

I agree with grey... it's a green linnie, for short. btw, congratulations.
you can get a natural perch for it, they love to hang up side down, and have an alert call.

Pls. be aware, they love hiding under blankets, pillow, cushions etc....so if you ever have it out, be very aware of where it is at all times. many linnies have died due to unfortunate accidents when hiding.

I owned 5 of them and they are funny, amazing birds, not very well known which is a real shame.

Ditto on the Lineolated Parakeet aka Linnie!!!! Cute little birds! Heard they make fantastic companions!

I'm not sure you can logically determine the type of previous owners this bird has had by the fact that he is scared and quiet.

He did just get rescued from being out in the wild and you are new to him. as with most captive breed animals, I would expect that an escape to the big outdoors might seem inviting. However, finding out that there is no one to feed you and water you and that, quite possibly, there are things out there that want to eat you ... just might be enought o scare the sqwawk out of you. Then add to that a new face, new cage and new surroundings. What's a bird to think?

Keep an eye out for local flyers and notifications. THere just might be some unhappy former bird owners missing their baby!
