Merlin & Charlie (Senegals)
Okay, so I know before I mentioned how my breeder had b&g's on eggs and how I really wanted one... however - my other half is not as keen as I am on getting a macaw. Reasons such as noise, space and of course those big claws and beaks around Merlin&the guys.

So, I'm dissappointed, but he would like to consider a grey or amazon (probably orange winged/blue fronted)

I'm doing my research into each breed but they've all got their pros and cons. Can anyone give me information about each grey/amazon/macaw that they have and which they could recommend.

My local breeder breeds each of these, so 'availablity' isn't really an issue, I can always wait longer if there isn't any yet.

I hate to be so fickle, but obviously it's gotta be a team decision and if Andy's heart or mine isn't in it 100% then I don't want to bring another bird into our lives.

I would recommend yellow fronted and blue fronted amazon. They made good pets and can be very lovely and intelligent.

I have Polly, a Dubble yellow head Amazon and she is tuf but now after 2 month it is going in the right direction. Blue fonded is normaly easier than yellow head and fond

Oh goodness. Well because of Merlin and Andrew we think we've settled on the idea of getting an African Grey from our local breeder. I text him and asked when his greys were next available and he said he's got four ready and waiting at the moment, and he'll take me to see them some day soon when me and Andy have officially decided.

We took Merlin into consideration as he was actually raised with these baby greys and caged with them for a fair while too before I bought him. As soon as he heard a grey (over an amazon) he perked up immediately. Despite most greys not being cuddly, we have our cuddlebug already. Andy's always been intersted in getting a grey and has spent plenty of time with Fred's babies himself when we've visited his store, he's no stranger to their bites. :D

However, before we rush into getting these, I've gotta educate andy further into specifics on african greys. We're looking forward to this as Fred's greys (birds in general, but his specialties are greys!) are just fantastic.

I feel like a moron for being so 'indecisive' and almost... quick to switch, or seeming like a rushing decision. But we've wanted a larger bird for a long time, but as he's been at uni and I was supposed to be going, it's not been appropriate. I've had a b&g as my dream bird (as well as a sennie) but since I've got Merlin, it's only fair that Andrew get's his grey. (I pretend I'm not as excited, but I've been crying due to getting another baby!)

Now cages... doesn't need to be as big as a macaws, but we're still looking for big! Off to the internet I shall go.
