Most, if not all Amazons enjoy chewing on some kind of wood. Mine loves those old fashioned clothes pins with the little ball on the top and no metal. I get them in the dollar store and he makes toothpicks out of them in seconds flat.

What kind of wood does your Amazon love? :green:

balsa. That's p much all they will touch right now

Our Julio, a Double Yellow-Head Amazon is a true snob. His wood of choice is high-end turned and finished fine quarter-sawed white oak. Or simple and cheap White Pine trim lumber, unfinished, when no one is looking. :D

Our birds love Balsam... second choice is just basic pine (untreated).

Salty likes softer woods like pine, but he has a partial branch of maple on his chain he loves to attack. Doesn't do much damage but he likes to attack it.

Sam loves to strip the bark off of the manzanita perches. Of course, that's all he can do with them! Soft woods wouldn't last more than a minute. I try to get somewhat harder ones.
