We are collecting two rescue Conures in a few day's they only small but very sweet one even talk's a little he asks "What you doing" and its so cute, anyway this bird wasn't looked after at all and has a bad deformity of his beak, the top grows one way and the bottom the other way, he manages to eat and we have been told that it will need trimming often which is ok as our vet's have agreed to do this at a lower consult fee as he will need it often but we are worried at what kind of life he will have and if he is gonna enjoy it, has anyone had a bird with a lot of damage to there beak and if so was there quality of life good?
we have named him Egor the second has yet to be named
And any tip's on taming conures we have done loads of reading etc about them but owners pick up stuff that are not in books or some care sheets

I would have to see a pic. Many times over growth in beaks is caused due to health reasons. For example liver problems can cause over growth. Many birds do just fine if the beak is maintained correctly.

Il try and get a pic of him as soon as iv picked them up, we was told it was done by another bird but he looks strange other than the beak, the only way i can describe it, but when you look at him it looks like something else is going on other than just the beak, as if he would still look strange even with a normal beak if that make's sense
will get a pic asap as that will help

Somewhere in the back of my alleged mind is the dim memory that a deformed beak on a chicken is a sign of malnutrition.
