What kind of conure is this?

Hello all,

I've been looking for what kind of bird this one is for quite some time. The larger one is obviously a cockatoo, but what about the smaller one? I've seen the photo around the internet and never any context. I've taken it to pet stores, even a few specialty shops, and no one has any idea outside of it probably being some type of conure. I'm hoping someone knows, because it's a truly beautiful bird. Thanks!

Not a 100% sure but I know its a lovebird....I think its a black masked turquoise lovebird but someone else will be able to clarify that I am sure....very cute pic though!

Looks like a blue mutation green cheek conure with a broken off tail to me.

Lovebirds are tiny. And their faces are different.

I found a picture of one like this on loveyourparrot.com and the specimen was identified as a turquoise masked lovebird. Interesting! They come in so many colors!

It definitely could be a black-masked turquoise lovebird (though finding similar pictures of them are proving difficult), but I thought they had a different sort of face and beak?

Is there known to be a lot of variability in turquoise green cheeks? I haven't seen one that has had a peach-colored beak before, but it would be possible it if was a turquoise-pineapple cross...but then the head shouldn't be able to be black, right?

I'm wondering if all the line (in) breeding to get the color may have modified the face somewhat. You are correct in that the bare area around the eyes is a bit more defined, and the beak shape is different.

Blue masked lovebird, not a conure
Just google blue masked lovebird if you want to see more images ;)
