Yellow Shoulder Amazon, Salty
Is it me, or have like tons of B&G macaws been flooding the forum in the last couple of weeks? Something in the breeding cycle? Hey don't get me wrong, I love B&Gs, they always look like they are smiling! If my little Salty had not picked me at the bird shop, I would most likely be a B&G Macaw owner too!

For awhile it seemed that the Green Cheek Conures were going to take over the board!

So if you are a new B&G macaw parront, just add a line to this thread, please! See if I am crazy or not.

I can't add my name to the list of new B&G parronts but, yes Al, I have noticed the influx of new Blue and Golds.

I'm a new B&G owner and definitely crazy. Does that help?

The rescue where we found Gus had three other B&G macaws getting ready for placement, and now that a space has opened more are coming in. I hate to say it...but maybe people don't rehome a gray or Big Mac because they "are worth a lot of money" ... I don't know how they are in general, but Gus doesn't seem to talk, and needs a lot of attention. Maybe that's an easier bird for people to relinquish.

They come in waves... like aliens... Martians, Venutians, Neptunians...

Green Cheeks, B & Gs, what's next? RICKEYBRDZSZSZSZSZS!!!!????

Aliens? Gail, you should talk, with that RB bare eye patch ! You watch, Patagonian conures grow a second head at age 35!

It's their time to shine :) usually they are one of those that are just kind of always around but there has been a spike in B&G posters lately.

There was a nice ekkie wave right around the time outlawedspirit and a few others started posting. There has even been a mini bump in pattys in the last couple weeks! About a year ago it was illigers macaws coming out of the woodworks.

What's next? Me, I'm hoping for a slew of red fronted macaws or some obscure conures like red throated or painted conures. I miss Marks posts about his Sweetpea.

Im new!!! But i am in the uk guys, alot more dog owners(im guilty of that too)here than big bird owners,Budgies are quite popular though

Lol I felt the same way a few weeks ago with the IRN's...there seemed to be a sudden surge. The forums certainly have their seasons...

Always funny when it's hormone time and there is a slew of conure posts basically all asking why their 1-2 year old went psycho:orange:

Hey all, I'm new around here and might be getting a 5 year old B&G today. Going to go see him this evening.

So he's not new but might be new to me. The wife and I didn't go searching for a B&G specifically, just a larger parrot. We have had smaller birds in the past. Still have a budgee.

Well, I'm not a new owner, but I am quite new to the forum AND I live in Denmark, so I don't know if that counts.

In Denmark at the moment, there are a lot more B&G breeders than B&G buyers, so they are quite cheap here at the moment, compared to other macaws. A B&G baby goes for as little as $550 and was offered a B&G baby missing a talon for $285. In comparison a scarlet baby is $2100 and a GW is $1350.
