I recently bought a table top A&E java stand for my macaw to chill out on from room to room. He loves it!! But he loves the cup more!

I can't find anything on what the bowl is made from. But he is licking and chewing it like crazy(and yes I did wash it when I got it). Its the one that comes on the stand, not SS. It honestly looks like a mineral block in bowl form. Is it mineral? Clay?

But he has food in a ss dish and he's more focused on the stand bowl.

Anyone know what it's made of? I can't find anything on the site, but I can order another one through them. Figured I'd ask here before emailing the company since its closed haha

No idea- I know what you mean though- the fun looking and textured ones.

Let us know once you get an answer?

I just looked it up, their catalog says they are made of "sandstone" on the page where you can order replacements...

So I called A&E cages to get an answer. He rattled off exactly what the bowl was but I don't remember the exact thing. He did say it IS safe to chew on and ingest, it just has no nutritional value haha.

So I guess he can continue his obsession with thre bowl haha.

Lol...I just did a Google search and found their online-catalog, and loaded the PDF version...On page 123 they list the different types of bowls that go with their stands that you can buy individually (they also have some different stainless ones), then there are the ones that you're talking about, and they call them "Sandstone" Bowls...
