What is a chop

I am new to bird ownership and have seen a few people making a chop for their birds can someone tell me what this is and how u make them thanks

It's intersting how the terminologies change or come about over the years. When I first discovered that online groups for parrots even existed in about 2005, it was Yahoo Groups! I was active on several parrot Yahoo Groups. I had never even heard the word "chop" then. Or "mash".. No one called it that. I guess it was just referred to as "vegetables" or veggies and fruit?? Idk, LOL.
Can anyone relate? Had anyone heard of it referred to as "chop" 10 or so years ago?

So you did the Yahoo Groups too?! I didn't even know forums existed then haha. Since Facebook came about, I think the Yahoo Groups pretty much died out like the dinosaurs...

10 years ago I was on a forum for guppies.... I was 10 at the time and my parents didn't understand my obsession. Now here I am 10 years later on a parrot forum, and my mom has simply accepted that I'm an obsessive animal lover

"Chop" is when you spend 30 min cutting into small pieces fruits and veggies, maybe adding some crushed nuts and cooked quinoa/amaranth etc, mixing it all up to look super yummy, and then find out that your fids wouldn't eat it and just scream for the seed! LOL Hope there are not too many "chop loosers" like me here.

What you need is more fids..... My galah loves it, the others not so much. Just keep acquiring more until you get someone who likes it . (yes, I'm kidding.)

Veimar I am also a chop loser. I can relate so welll. My bird doesnt scream too much though. I have been trying peppers this week. LOL

I'm sorry, I laughed and laughed at this !! It started out sounding so serious at first. I was going "30 minutes, wow..." LOL!

Mine only takes 5 minutes and my fingers are flying (thank goodness for fairly dull knives)! Some days they love it, some days they hardly eat it.

"Chop Loser" LOL!! I was dying here, that's so funny!
