This is just my thoughts to any person new...er than me and even old..er members.
(Heads up, my thoughts are all over)
Okay Parrotforums is a community of the most bird loving people out there, people who love their birds like children and their children like birds.
That being said, you guys always do the best you can to offer advice to any and all owners out there. With that, there's some protectiveness that you must put out there to make sure that the lives of the parrot and owners are still a-o-k.
So sometimes, what we say towards someone can sound harsh while in fact we're just stating our own experience and our own warnings towards bird species. This sometimes comes out very wrong like we're angry at that person for wanting advice or answers. This is never the case. We are just trying to ensure that both the pet and owner will live a harmonious life--which might and can be decade of living together.
Also, responding is quite a difficulty at times. I KNOW for me, I come off as very stubborn or very persistent for wanting something. As posters, sometimes it gets very overwhelming when you have to respond to 3-10 people about whatever you decided to post! So maybe because of the pressure or the pure overwhelming state of being "picked on" (not so much, but hopefully you get my point) we come back with a "tude".
But to consider to everyone is that we have no clue how our sentences are being implied. We can't literally hear what someone is trying to say, so in some cases the viciousness or the sassy-ness is a misunderstanding and we should try our best to try not to latch out on someone for something someone might have implied in the wrong way.
And always start off as a good note! If you are wanting to join always do the "welcome" post. It's not mandatory but it helps when you have questions along the line so we know more about you to better help you. Don't try to make "enemies" by rejecting the advice given (sorry if I have done this, again, I'm quite stubborn without realizing) since at the end, we are shoulders to put your head on and to help vent/seek advice/ask questions.
I still am I newbie but this is just what I experienced during my time here and hopefully there are some points you can agree on.
Maybe an Admin or SuperModerator would have been better stating this, but its purely based on my overall experience with this site.
