It always amuses me to see a flavoursome beak!

Seeing jenphillys Ivory (winner of August's POTM competition) makes me smile when I login! :D

I thought it would be interesting to know what everyones smothering their beaks with, and also funny to see it!

So I was wondering if you guys would like to share images of a condition I call 'Flavour Beak', detailing the flavour!

Today Bellas Flavour Beak consists of particles of...
Kiwi
Bok Choy Raw
Shredded Carrot Raw
Carrot Sticks Steamed
Green Beans Steamed
Bell Peppers (Red, Green, Yellow, Orange) Diced Raw
Peas Steamed
Sweetcorn Steamed
Sesame Seeds

As you can see her beak is relatively clean from this meal!

EarlyBird rarely gets a cute food covered beak, but I can't miss the chance to put her picture ♡ this is a plum.

All my birds are surprisingly clean eaters (they make the mess tossing things on the floor, not on their beaks!) But this topic reminded me of a funny situation. The wifey had given Peaches a jalapeno, I didn't know that. Peaches likes to preen my eyes. Normally not a problem, but with invisible Jalapeno beak? OHHHH I thought I was gonna go blind.

Ah the old 'Invisible Jalapeño Flavour Beak' - Very dangerous!

The only cure for this is milk, so if ever it happens again put some milk in your eyes! I got my partner to chop some jalapeños for Bella and he managed to get some in his eye. I told him put milk in it, and he was like "I don't want milk in my eye!" - I put a few drops in his eye and it was all better :)

Very interesting. I think my reaction would have been a lot like your partners at first... Those exact words even "But.. I don't want milk in my eye" lol.

Good to know though, I'm gonna avoid a repeat, but if I get unlucky again I'll have to try it.

Saltys beak is kale, romaine lettuce, green orange and red peppers, and a few jalapeno's flavored. He Always gts the nights veggie dish all over his beak, so much that sometimes I'm afraid he will get it into his nostrils and later sneeze out a yam booger. He lovs his hot peppers so much so that I got some ghost peppers for the next batch of chop. I got litterally burned from making one batch which included some hanenareo peppers plus the usual jalapenos and other hot chile peppers, Didnt realize the jucices were still on parts of my hand and Boy did I get a surprise when I wiped some sweat from my eyes later. I thought I was going to go to hospital for seared retina. Almost same thing happened with my old Yellow Nape, only after making a chop, by hand, I went to the john to take a leak, without washing thoroughly. Well, you can guess which 'member got burned that time. And how do you explain that to non-parrot people? ANyway, I wear latex gloves now when making chop - too risky with the high power peppers Salty likes.
Ghost peppers used to hold the highest 'heat' number until recently.
Let Salty like them all he wants, I am not taking a risk of having a hot johnson again.

I literally laughed out loud! That's some great precautionary measures your taking in order to avoid the condition known as 'Hot Johnson'. - Like I said to SirEdwin89, milk is the cure for hot peppers. How you apply it is upto you! :D

Salty looks rather pleased with his Flavour Beak!

Hahahahahaha! Oh, this thread is high comedy! Missed the Eclectic Duo's food beaks this morning, but I'll see if I have anything in the files.

"Hot Johnson". Hilarity! And... Ouch!

Ahahahahahahahahaha, Al, you slay me. My eyes were bad, but that would be much worse I think!

Okay, someone really needs to make a meme of someone making chop for their parrots in full hazmat gear. :D

What a cute thread! Bella is adorable wearing her dinner!

Love the pic of Early Bird, she's such a cutie!

Al, Salty's photo is great and the story, I'm still ROFL at your expense.

This is my favorite food face photo. Sweet Pea gets enthusiastic at dinner time.

Hahahahahaha! Enthusiastic is an understatement! That is one happy 'tiel!

Wow, that food looks bigger than Sweet Peas beak! That's quite an accomplishment! May I ask as to what 'Flavour Beak' we are seeing here?

I am sooooooooooooo massively cute-ed right now!
This is really one of those things that non-bird-folks DO NOT GET!
The cuteness of a beak covered in good-for-ya stuff.

Here's our contribution...

Serrano pepper... his favorite!

Rickeybird is sooo cute! I love his tiny little nibbles, he looks around after each bite like he's checking no-ones gonna steal his tasty pepper!

Definitely a Serrano Pepper Flavour Beak!

Oh, you're absolutely right. He's such a little rooster. Even though I'm the one to GIVE him the peppers, he constantly suspects me of intending thievery. UNTIL he's finished it... then he wants to feed me... no thanks, my Love! Those things are HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

Oh, and did you hear me sneeze?
Gahhhhhhhhhhh... those peppers are incendiary.
But of course, he likes 'em, so...

I would never have thought that a bird would eat a jalapeño. I'd probably be afraid to try giving them one but I suppose if they eat what we eat...

Janquito...
Common wisdom is that parrots have such poor taste and smell that hot peppers really excite and stimulate them. And they're very healthy! So I give the Rickeybird lots!

What's wrong with my birds? They don't like peppers of any kind. I put them in chop but they won't touch a whole or a halved pepper.

I'm so sorry, seems I missed the whole point of the thread. I don't give my birds a lot of whole kernel corn even though they love it. Sweet Pea was dish diving in search of a corn kernel mixed in with the quinoa, brown rice and cooked vegetables.

This isn't really a food beard but Poppy is stuffing her beak. She loves a whole cinnamon stick to nibble and play with. Sweet kisses.
