Hi all,

Just wondering what you use to clean and disinfect your cages?

To be honest, I usually just use a mild soap every month and give the cage a good clean. I spot clean the cage with water and vinegar every night as well.

Recently, certain disinfectant products have been brought to my attention like Pet Focus or F10 Biocare. Has anyone had experience/recommendations with these products? How effective is bleach?

F-10 is fantastic at disinfecting.

I've never tried pet focus but I'll talk about the other two I've tried

Cage and Aviary Nature's Miracle
I used this product on Kenji's grate to clean off his poop. It worked well, but I wouldn't use it in the rest of his cage or perches as it isn't 100% safe

Poop-Off
I just recently bought this and I like it so far, it's slightly less affective than Nature's miracle and I have to scrub harder, but that's alright with me since it's 100% safe. In the end it still gets the job done, and also has a pleasant smell to it.

Just water and vinegar solution with a squirt or two of dawn dish soap. I put it in a spray bottle. It takes care of the hard poop if you spray it and wait a min or 2 before wiping. I spot clean boomer's cage once or twice a day. Takes a minute, and it cuts down tremendously on my weekly cage cleaning. It's actually a lot better because there is no poop in the cage that hardens from age and nothing to be dragged around when/if he accidentally steps on poop. Less cleaning all around.

I take my cages outside to spray and scrub. I use a high pressure steamer to disinfect or I use vinegar mixed with water.
