What do you let your IRN chew on?

I feel like I might be being a little overprotective but I'm not sure, I'm basically terrified whenever my IRN decides to start chewing on anything.

He keeps trying to chew on the wires near my computer a lot which I obviously don't want him chewing on but he's always chewing on a lot of plastic toys which I'm not so sure about, I read most toys have some kind of toxins in them but how dangerous they are I don't know.
He also regularly tries to eat numerous painted objects.

Should I relax more when I have him out or should I be watching what he's doing like a hawk?

we've all been there

toy wise baby ones are always good as they're non-toxic. Newer toys are using less and less toxic materials as they know children chew on them. Wires just need to be made boring, try bringing his own toys out and playing with them yourself, it'll be more interesting to steal that than to play with the thing that's just sitting there

and yes you should be watching like a hawk. Most accidents occur when you are not.

It may help if he has something of his own, a stand with toys and some treat cups attached.

I think I probably will get him a partial clip after all, that way he can still enjoy his flight but he will be unable to reach a good number of hazards higher up.

He gets anywhere between an hour to 4 outside of his cage a day, I'd definitely feel a lot more comfortable having him out for longer periods of time If I knew he wasn't going to kill himself.

Unfortuneately for me he seems to have a fascination with lights, so far he's tripped two room lights and a lamp all by swinging on them.

Do you have any advice for stopping him from eating painted walls btw? The paints dry but it's not like I can move the walls out of his way.
