What do people mean when they say "my fids"?

I'm afraid that's probably a really silly question, but I learned a long time ago that I'd rather look silly for a few seconds in someone's eyes than sit with a burning, nagging question.

I googled it but all I got were results for LOTS of posts where people use the phrase and no explanation of it! Is it an acronym? A type of bird? Please at least tell me it's perfectly normal for a new bird owner to be out of the loop on this.

(ETA: You can imagine I was doubly mortified when a search in the forums did not reveal anyone else asking what this means... )

FIDS = feathered kids.

I had an idea, but didn't know for sure. I spent a lot of time on the orchid forum where orchid growing people call their orchids "chids", so I had a hint.......
I just thought I could live a little longer without knowing for sure.

After all, Flying Kids automatically assumes Feathered with Parrots.

FIDS, feathered kids, a phrase used when the unsuspecting human realises that it is too late, responsibilty has been placed and the parrot has completed phase 1 of the 'no option' take over of the humans life.
