What can I wrap around a cage to stop the floor from constantly being a mess?

So, Linus is beyond messy, Like 50% of his food ends up on the floor messy. I have to sweep more than 3 times a day and it's getting old. I thought about wraping mosquito net around the cage, but I'd be scared he would get his toes stuck. I also thought about cutting acrylic to fit around his cage but that would prevent airflow, and I don't have a supplier of acrylic anywhere near me. What can I wrap around his cage to prevent him from making a huge mess?

Depending on the side of the cage, you can get "seed catchers" which are elastic and mesh fabric that stretches around the cage. You can also make your own with solid fabric as well, just make sure that any seams are hidden so threads don't come loose. You can also buy "scatter guards" which are acrylic pieces that fit behind bowls, but I get my acrylic sheeting from Lowes or Home Depot. You can also consider different bowls that are designed to keep food in.

And believe me when I say I understand! My vacuum is broken right now and I've been having to sweep the carpet like crazy.

I'd say your best bet is getting one of those special bowls. Some are hung up inside the cage, and others are set up where the opening is right at the food door but the bowl itself is outside and completely closed off. Usually with an acrylic covering.

My birds like to crap off the side of the cage and grab food and take it up top to eat it. What a mess.. not that I live in a sterile home or such. but it sucks to slide on bird poop hah... So I solved most of the problem. I bought 2 base trays for washing machines.. about 3 ft by 3 ft... put the cage and stands in them and filled about an inch of kitty litter in em. Now most of the seed and poop ends up in the base and I can scoop it weekly like a cat box.... perhaps that will help in your situation??
