Isolated Holler in the Appalachian Wilderness
Parrots
B&G Macaw, Galah, 5 cockatiels, 50 billion and a half budgies. We breed and do rescue. Too many to list each individual's name and age etc, but they are each individuals and loved dearly.
I am a total dork and sing and talk to my birds all the time.

Here are a couple of Freedom's favorite songs that I sing to her. What do your birds like?

I always hum this for Luna and it puts her right away into a beak grinding sleepy mode even at the vet.

Parrots of such refined diversity here!

The Rb seems to decide his favorites based on the artists... he likes curvy brunettes. Paula Abdul was IT in the 90s until she faded. Now it's J-Lo. He watches MTV and singles out his true loves, dances and shrieks to them. He also likes Fergie.

Salty sings "Little Brown Jug" with lyrics, and he does the female vocal part to Wagner's The Valkyrie from his "The Ring of the Nibelung" opera. He like listening to gospel and classic rock, with female voices. He bobs his head to them and we know that bits and pieces will surface when he is in his free style periods every day.

Julio loves anything that includes his name, whether original or added by the singer. His fav is anything Mrs. Boats sings and if it includes his name, all the better.

Same thing with my Yoda, he loves it when I stick his name into songs. His favorite is Happy Birthday to You, when it was his birthday this march, he'd bob and bounce and spin happily every time we sang Happy Birthday to him.

Trigger's favorite seems to be the lullaby I sing to him at bedtime every night, 'Twas On A Summer's Evening. Puts him right to sleep.

Both of them just like it when I sing to them, almost anything. :D

I think I have a new favorite for my Ozzy! I think after he hears this once he’ll love it I’m playing it for him now as we sit outside on the back deck eating our breakfast.

Consuela, my QP now has new favorite group: Sabaton, a heavy-metal group. My son gave me the heads-up. Consuela squawks along throughout the songs. I had best play the YouTube videos over and over. sigh. Rolleyes. 8-p. Thanks, kid, I think.

I've played every kind of music I can think of for Bo, and he doesn't seem to take any notice. However, as soon as *I* sing anything, he comes to me and gets right into my face.Strange but very useful, as I have high ceilings with high lampshades and beams on the walls so there's no way I can make him come to me if he doesn't want to, so as with most things I have to make him think what I want him to do is his idea. Singing is a guaranteed way to get him perching on me unless he's got something he knows I want to take from him, then he's too smart for that, haha.

When my singing teacher comes to my flat for a lesson, we have a rapt audience!
