What age did your sun conure start talking?

Molly is almost 5 months old and not talking yet. I am not sure she ever will talk but I think I maybe am being a bit hasty with this feeling. I hope anyways. I know some birds never talk and I'm fine with that but I sooo hope she does. What age did your sun conure start talking? I'm so curious! I repeat words to Molly constantly hoping she will pic something up!

It all depends on your definition of talking! My JoJo and I mimic each other all day long! He also mimics the Kurig, which I can't do!

Sunnies are not know for being great talkers. Though most parrots are capable of it, as far as I know.

Skittles actually just started talking in the past week or so. He says "love you". It can be hard to understand him (and sun conures in general) but I can tell for sure when he is close by and says it (like on my shoulder.

I hadn't even been trying to teach him to talk really. I mean I kept saying "juice" and "treat" when I would give him those in hopes he would tell me he wanted them but it never happened.

Now, he only says it when he wants too. I'd like for him to say it back to me or say it more often, but he seems to reserve it for just the right time.

Like when I put him back in his cage (if he is misbehaving) and he will make constant "kissy noises". He's such a great manipulator. lol
