We stopped in to see Teddy today and he seems quite well. He Is stepping up much better this time and is less nippy. He is really funny when he lunges though because it's so deliberate and obvious but we are not encouraging it ( hard not to laugh sometimes though). The little guy is still at 3 feedings so he is still a ways away from coming home. We think he's very handsome but it is nice that he isn't sitting in a brooder still because his feathers are already looking better. Here are someone pics from our last visit. Uh it's awful I am so impatient and just want him now! But we do go see him about 3 times a week so I guess I'll have to deal :). Atleast we have Gandalf at home to satisfy my bird need. This weekend will be the first time Gandalf and Teddy will meet so I'm very excited but a little nervous.

At least you are able to visit often. Just take it slow with the introductions. You will want to be careful once they are both home that Gandalf's feather dust doesn't get on Teddy too much.
I met a woman who had a 10 month old female whose feathers looked awful, the bird was on a great diet, had a nice roomy cage and plenty of toys but was in a room with powder down birds including a grey because she was getting covered with the dust she was over preening and had her feathers looking very ratty. On my suggestion the woman moved the ekkie girl to another room and began bathing her more, he feathers improved right away.

I'll definitely keep and eye on that Gandalf doesn't seem too dusty. We do bathe daily though, she likes to hang on the shower perch when I shower and will jump to my shoulder to get wet.

Teddy is so adorable! He looks like he is smiling in that first picture:)
I am so happy that you get to go visit him regularly.

Us too, I would never take an unweaned baby because I have no handfeeding experience so this is the next best thing we can go see him whenever we want and not have to worry about hurting our little guy. We have only had him purchased for 2 weeks and he is already making so much progress. He is perching much better than when we first met and is staepping up almost every time. Also he was very nippy the first few visits and did not like to be touched much, but now he actually will rub his head against us if he wants rubs. We are going to try and minimize cuddling too much because we don't want him regurgitating when he is older but it is nice to have him be affectionate :)

Sweet pics! I remember that feeling of being so anxious for your bird to come home! Feels like a lifetime ago that Bixby was that small, but he's not even ten months, yet! The time will come, but in the interests of full disclosure I must admit that it's going to feel like forever. Lol!

I'm glad he seems to be bonding so well with you. As for minimizing the cuddling, I say take what you can get! He's an ekkie! They're not exactly known as cuddle bugs, you know. Lol! :p
