Good night All :)
My yellow headed one has arrived. Kiwi is afraid of her I m hoping that changes over time. Her yellowness hasn't had much human interaction and seems afraid of everyone at home including me. I did manage to handfeed her and gave a few head scratches using a soft towel to protect my fingers as she's a bit nippy. She seemed to like being out of her cage although to put her in for the night she wasn't too pleased and hissed at me so I had to towel her to return her to her cage so she can sleep. She isn't as trusting as kiwi although I m thinking its due to her new environment and strange people. Please do enjoy the pictures. I ll take some better ones tomorrow. Have a Goodnight and thank you :)

Very nice, however that's not a Double yellow head, looks just like a Yellow Crown, LOL.Very similar and a great amazon never the less. your island sure seems to have a abundance of baby zons to choose from.

Hello there Henpecked,
How are you and yours ? Actually it's very difficult to have baby amazons far less finding one for a pet that's a few months old. We seem to not have them readily here, I work in biology so come in contact with many exotics and as such when people have for adoption I tend to get offers, I love animals and try as much as possible to give them what they require, love, attention and a good home. Lol I feel a bit silly at confusing the species her yellowness however does not yet have a name. She's very nippy and growls quite a bit I m hoping that improves the more time we spend together. She's a month older than kiwi and is twice her size.

I thought you might be in vet school. I got a biology degree but went fishing instead,LOL. Ah to be young and raising baby amazons. I;m old and have to give them away, At least i still have my baby from my childhood.

Actually everyone either thinks I m in vet school or should be a vet. I did a zoology degree, then worked in the area for a while, still do, then decided to study optometry lol. My biology background hasn't prepared me for raising amazons lol. You ve been extremely helpful in helping me with kiwi, this forum ha been wonderful. I only hope I can be just as helpful once I gain some experience :)

I've got a feeling your about to get all the "experience" you can stand, LOL.

Lol they ll both keep me occupied indeed :) you re lucky to have your childhood amazon. I had one when I was 3 years old but it died shortly after we got him. I haven't had any parrots since, kiwi and yellow are my only ones since.

Oh how sweet!!! VERY pretty new baby you got there!!!

I'm sure the growling will stop once you get to know each other a bit better. :)
