Weird things my parrots do (with pictures)... how about yours?

So I thought it might be fun to share some of the strangest things my birds like to do, along with a few pictures...

Berry likes to stare at her reflection in the tv when it is off. Then she tries to fit her chubby body UNDER the tv, perhaps to check that there is another bird there? haha. here she is...


Pearl on the other hand is an acrobat of note. She'll hang upside down by one leg, twirl around a perch when she's excited, and even hang from the chandelier...



In fact, the chandelier is a HUGE HIT with the girls, and poor Berry with her clipped wings (not my choice), often has to use me as a launch pad to make it all the way up there!


Now Opal... he has his quirks too. He'll spend ALL DAY talking to himself, often with just his shadow on the wall! He's also more than content to just sit in his cage by himself all day even when the other two are out and the cage door is open... this is literally the complete opposite of Pearl, who has an enormous amount of energy and just flies around all day. Maybe he's just a lazy, laid-back boy!

oh gosh, and he LOVES my boyfriend's hair. He'll sits on it all the time when he comes over. My hair just isn't good enough apparently!! this is a pretty old picture from a few months ago, but all the same.


So, what weird things do your parrots do?

Oh, those are FUNNY!
The Rb always gives me a laugh when he makes echo chambers out of bowls (like he needs any extra volume).

Or rings his bell (eternal thanks, Mr. Wrench).

Ah I would love to show them when they are all grown up as they are still quite young, although I never have with my other adult show budgies... they just look so regal and pretty, that’s why I keep a few of them haha! Pearl is a lovely opaline cinnamon violet and although I think she would be gorgeous to show she has a skew toe (think it broke when she was a baby and never healed) so I’m sure that would set her back in a competition [emoji23]
