I was just curious, and wanted to know if any other parrots out there have weird sleeping positions?

Since I adopted him, Kiko wants his perches near a corner, so he can crouch down and stick his tail up through the cage bars, at a 90 degree angle. It is so weird, and hilarious!

Sounds adorable, at the very least!

I bet you'll find some similarly quirky sleepers here.

The Rickeybird? The few times I've sneaked up on him successfully to observe... highest perch, one foot, beak tucked into back. It's the one thing he does that's NOT loud, evil, or perverse. :)

Lol! Rickybird sounds like quite the character!

I realized that he locks exactly like a Toucan when they sleep, except he doesn't have the muscles to keep his tail up like that, so it has to rest against the cage bars.

He really enjoys crouching on the highest perches for his deep sleeping. He takes his naps with a leg raised, and his head tilted, but in order to get a good rest, he wants to crouch down.

I had to rearrange his cage last night, because I rearranged it a while ago with the new toys, and he wasn't happy, so in order to crouch, he would sleep towards the bottom of the cage, on his seagrass mat. Now that I rearranged his perches, he is pretty happy.

I will try and take a picture of him doing it, although he only does it at night. ^^

I'll look forward to it.

Also, your doggie must have been muy precioso... what a face. :)
