Weird noises

I got a green cheek conure (Not tamed) today. It went good and all but there's something that i'm wondering about. He makes weird noises if i don't look at him. I would be sitting at my desk and he would make those noises, when i turn around and look at him he just stops. When i go back to what i was doing he continues. Does anyone know what this means and why he does it? I tried to record it but my telephone is pretty bad so you can't hear it.
I watched this video: [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukQ22bAw0QU"]Guide to Green Cheek Conure Behavior - YouTube[/ame]
To find out if it was anything like those noises but nothing came even close.
Any kind of advice or help is appreciated so please reply if you know anything.

Most likely he just wants attention. (Hence him stopping when you turn to look at him.) Birds generally make sounds for attention and if you give it to them in response to the sounds they will make the sound more. Hence why you should ignore a screaming bird. And why many parrots curse for attention (the owners freak out when their bird cusses, and they cuss more because it gets them attention.)

Anyone that would teach a bird to curse/cuss doesn't need to own a bird. While it might seem cute to one owner it can doom that bird to "unadoptable" later if the unexpected happen. And a thought on screaming birds. If you have a chronic screamer its usually because the human is doing something wrong to cause it.
If that was my brand new lil bird...Id make lil noises back to him... get a lil birdie conversation going. Not ignore him because he might be wanting attention. You have a new critter that's bound to be feeling a lil out of sorts.. in a strange place with a strange person. Give him attention. Talk softly to him. Time to make him feel welcome.
Just my 2 cents

Helps if you can describe the sound. Or record it. Conures can make all sorts of sounds, and can talk in high little voices, from what I've seen on Youtube. I saw some baby Conures today at our local bird only pet shop - they are so light and tiny and CUTE!

Frags, you show signs of being a wonderfully trainable conure owner!
I'm just happy that your little wild darling WANTS your attention!

Conures make a lot of sounds from yosammity sam grunts to whistles to downright talking...My bird like to grunt a lot because I guess he picked it up from me going grrrmmmm

It's attention seeking behavior, and feel free go give in, it will encourage more talking.
