weird behavior

I have a two year old CAG rescued from a previous owner who never let her out of her small cage. The first day we had her she bit me hard .

Now she will willingly come to me and respond to step up. When my wife has her she perches on her ARM. But when I get close she wants me to pick her up she makes weird squeaking noises only when I'm near she sits right next to my head and regurgitates her food but only by me otherwise she is acting normally.

Also when we got her she had breast feathers plucked and shoulders also.. any info will help my avian vet did a blood test and found nothing abnormal . Thanks.

If this is behavior I should stop how do I do this without the bird hating me?

Have you researched the proper diet for your bird. Many times plucking is diet related. Stop seed and begin pellets and fresh foods, grains, legumes, nuts (no peanuts). It is good to have out of cage time as much as possible. Gp slowly with her and do not expect too much for a few months. Good luck.

She has obviously selected you as her intended mate, but if you do not like the regurgitating behavior when she does it walk away or put her back in her cage. When my boy does it, we put him back on his cage and walk away - nothing really punishing but not what he probably intended to happen! Also, if you pet her anywhere other than her head, I would discontinue that practice as well as it is only going to stimulate her mating behaviors.
As stated above, the plucking could be diet related, but if she was neglected before she could have done it for environmental reasons. It is like nail biting and can be hard to break!

I have changed her diet to a better pellet seed mix diet with no sunflower seeds and no peanuts also fresh veggies 3 times a week and a scrambled egg mix once a week we give fruits ( her favorite being grapes) as a training vice and a good girl treat. she is out of the cage and by me about 10 hours of the day. before she never had any out of cage time. and her diet was exremely poor. so far we have only seen two feathers in the bottom of her cage but they look to be from preening she is alot more vocal then she was at her previous enviroment ... thanks for all the advice more is apprieciated.
