Weaning a Baby Greenwing

Any tips on how and when to start my baby on some kind of food to begin the weaning process...he is 8 weeks old and is getting active and exploratory.

Then now would be a good time to put food in the brooder with him. He will move around, stumble apon it, then eventually play with it.
