Weak grip?

My IRN drops half of the food given to him and seems to have the
same problem with his toys, although they are a bit bigger.

He's probably wasted a decent amount of food because of this now, and it
isn't exactly convenient fetching his toys for him when he drops them on the floor 5 times in the span of a few minutes lol.

Is this common? Is there anyway to improve his grip with both his feet and
his beak?

He's a little over 6 months old currently.

Are you sure it's an accident? Because mine do this on purpose.

I'm pretty sure it's not intentional because when he drops stuff in his cage
he goes and fetches it if it hasn't fallen through the bars.

sounds like a good game to me

my conure would do the exact same thing. Pick some food out of his bowl, throw a bit on the floor of his cage then go down to find it, climb back up then repeat the process

He might know you’re not going to pick it up for him inside the cage. That said, if you are truly concerned as you seem to be, time for a visit to the Avian vet.

Agreed yes. It sounds like normal parrot behavior but if it isn't then whatever health issue would cause him to be that weak would be a very serious one.
