First.... Miss Mink, my sweet English budgie hen turned 2 yesterday (March 7). She is currently molting, so not looking her best.

She had a nice day just lounging around and eating bon bons :18:.

Today is Griffin's 3rd birthday :D! He's a wild teenager! A male Ruppell's Parrot in full adult color.

This morning, Raven invited Griffin to his house for breakfast. When Griffin flew in, Raven immediately said "hi!" I told him to say happy birthday, but "hi" was the best he could do lol. Then he started feeding him (yuck, Griffin can eat just fine on his own!), Then Raven started preening him. Griffin is lucky to have such a good bff.

Look at Griffin's facial expressions lol

Today also marks one of the first times ever that Griffin stepped up without a seed, and stayed on my hand for some time. Normally he wants a seed to step up or else he's afraid of my hand and will bite. Or else he only likes to jump onto my back. This was a long time in coming, and I'm so proud of his progress. One of these days I will write a post for the Incredible Journeys section.

Well, Happy Hatchday, both!
What a striking flock you have!

Happy Birthday Mink and Griffin! That look on Griffin's face so cracked me up.
Gorgeous babies you have, Julie:)

Kiki the Cockatiel, one of YouTube's many talented birds, whistles happy birthday to celebrate!

Mink and Griffin say thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes :). Omg that cockatiel whistling happy birthday is too adorable!

Griffin cracks me up every day. He's like a little animated creature. It's impossible to explain in text what he does, but he's like a little cartoon character. Robin (his Poicephalus cousin) is the one who really has my heart and is the best bird ever, but Griffin is the "cuter" one and is just so animated. He's hysterical. He makes the funniest sounds, and his voice sounds like Ralphie on the Simpson's.

Griffin is also the quietest parrot I've ever encountered. He doesn't have many noisy times, but when he does he just talks quietly or makes funny sounds. His loudest natural call that I don't hear very often is a quick sharp 'chirp', and it's not even loud.

Happy Hatchday, Mink & Griffin!!!

Love the pics, Jules! Especially this one:

It looks like he's saying, "Yeeeeeeeeeah, Boyyyyyy!"

Also, congratulations on Griffin's progress. I know it's been a long road, so I'm glad to see that he's starting to come around.

Griffin and Mink, I hope you enjoyed your hatch day celebrations!

Hahaha! He always has that look when Raven is preening him. Maybe I should teach him to say that hahaha.

Thanks.. he's showing small increments of progress more and more all the time. It's been almost 2 years now, from having gone completely spastically phobic, bringing him back closer and closer to "tame" again. It's been a real experience. Something else new is now when I cover him and say goodnight, he routinely comes up to the front of the cage to actively say goodnight to me also. He hangs upside down to do this, and sometimes makes a sweet little soft noise :). He's so cute and funny.

Thank you Scott and Allee :)!
