Good morning,

How much water should KyKy be drinking throughout the day? It seems she only hits the water bowl a couple times per day. Her appetite seems fine, grazing the food bowl and training treats throughout the day.

Thanks.

With parrots in general, it's often hard to catch them drinking water...So if you are seeing it at all, it is likely fine, as long as other behavior is okay and as long as you see it every so often. Today, I didn't see Noodles drink once, but she does..Plus, her wet food contains liquid. I can go days without ever actually seeing her drink (now, she is a cockatoo, not an eckie, but I am guessing some are just like that).

Make sure you aren't adding anything to the water that could alter the flavor, as this can make them drink less and increase bacterial content of the water.

Our Amazon likes to drink when others are not observing him. Haven't a clue why, but that's his thing...

Wow, our Julio would be chewing the Bamboo to tiny pieces, one of is favorite chew woods.

KyKy seems to enjoy stripping pieces of the bamboo off, chewing it and tossing it onto the floor.
