Parrots
Two Cockatiels, A Timneh African Grey
Hi everyone. I wanted to share this important fact which I found while reading a book about African greys, You may have seen one of your birds or your AG once slam into the window. This is why I came to tell this fact, as you see, humans can see completely transparent things and determine whether it was air or a solid. Unfortunately for birds they can't, and so they will try to fly through windows, however to fix this, either cover the windows with a curtain or put a very tiny piece of something opaque (Can't be seen through) on the windows, it should be big enough for the parrot to see it. Parrots, if not are being treated with these methods, may injure their beaks or any part of their buddy, the same happened with my cockatiel a few years ago and injured his beak and it started bleeding :( So if your parrot is flighted and is used to flying everywhere. These methods should be attended right away. That's all I have to say about one of the things for the safety of your parrots.

This not only applies to AGs, but ALL birds. We've had quite a few unfortunate "window" accidents lately. :(

I have all my birds clipped but they can still fly and have flown into our windows. I have since put window clings on them and no longer have any problems. :-D

Thanks for that input.

I've seen a too do this before also.....not a good reason to have to visit the vet :( Brother-in-laws bird.....but we all learned a lesson....

That's the reason why you have window treatments up if you have flighted bird. We post this quite often actually.

thank u as this is the first time I have read this and my grey has flown into my glass doors a few times and I always say to her come on silly are u blind I feel bad for saying it now lol
