Has anyone had a bird that won't wake up? Buddy and Buzz wake up if you look at them. They are always on alert, Buddy sleeps with one eye open, lol.

Then there is Venus. She had time out today from a screaming fit and I walked in the office where she does her time out, turn on the light and start talking to her. Her beak is buried in her back, out cold. I call her name, whistle, nothing. I had to shake the cage, not hard, to get her to wake up. Then I got the look of death from her. She is such a heavy sleeper. We have watched movies with surround sound turned up and she sleeps like a rock thru them.

Likely, still young and dependent on mom or dad to keep a watchful eye on what is going on around her. Or, she was up watching the late night TV shows (she found the control and was enjoying herself), which would explain her earlier less than happy state followed by her deep sleep! Better check your PayFor account! :D

Our Zon will have a long night from time to time, believing that its his turn to watch the house. The next day, he will go into deep sleep (AmaZone) and the house could fall down around him and he wouldn't know! ONLY A FOOL would want to wake him up! Serous 'Blood-Hell' moment!

All mine wake up at the drop of a hat unfortunately, I wish they'd just sleep deeply, especially in the mornings when everyone is up at 6am!

I do enjoy the hilarious "death glare" when I accidentally wake one up though, when they're all fluffy with their beak tucked back, and suddenly the eyes open to stare at you like you've just insulted their mother!
