We've had Coco since February now and he started chit chatting and whistling about 1 month and a half after we got him but he's been pretty quiet. He would chat me up in the morning and at night for about 10 minutes whistle and then be done. Yesterday morning he started chatting up a storm at 5 am and didn't stop until almost 10! A little screeching here and there with the whistling and all the other noises he makes and he's at it again this morning!! He's so funny. Sounds like he says specific things sometimes, but I just can't decifer what it is quite yet:) Quite the little character. I kept thinking "Wow! what a quiet bird"...well not so much now. I think he's truly discovered his voice :D

I don't know if Coco will like it, but I recommend playing nature or classical music. Nalani will talk up a storm!! I mean literally for hours and hours. It's hilarious to hear all of the different sounds.

Yeah, you ain't seen nothin yet. Wait until he really gets comfortable, which can take a year or longer. The longer he's with you and the older he gets the noisier he will become. Ekkie's can be quite loud when they want to be.

Great! :). Between him and our girl b&G coming this summer I wonder how loud our home will get! With three kiddos I never imagined it would get louder! Haha. All bets are off now:D

Pickles was the same way. He is VERY vocal now. Sometimes when I first get up, I'll just lay in bed and listen to him for about 20 minutes. He says the cutest things.

Oliver can be chatty, sometimes it's words (only mommy can understand!) and other times it's some concoction of weird but very cute sounds.

JoJo was very quiet and barely talk when Java was around. After Java left he started to talk again non stop...they do say the cutest things!!!! :)

yes it does get very noisy in my house, have the 7 eckkies and one lorri inside , gets very noisy when they all try and out do each other and then you have the wild too's fly over (well i wished they just flew over)and land in the park behind me, and all my birds love talking to the too's and seeing if they can get louder then the too's then you have the in between time when they just chatter to each other it sounds so cute, and most of there sounds i can make so i sit there and copy there sounds we have such good convo's lol

Speaking of the fids talking to wild birds, the funniest thing happened the other morning. I was parked at the 'puter, mindin' my own business when our local pair of Yellow Tailed Black Cockies flew over. As usual, I heard them before I saw them. They were making that sort of moaning screech they make (sounds like a lost soul to me). Well! The Beaks went bananas! They shrieked at the wild birds using the voice with which they locate one another when flying around the house. If I didn't know better, I'd have thought they were calling to a long-lost friend! It was weird. The black cockies haven't flown over again since then, but I can't wait till they do. I wonder whether they could possibly hear the Beaks calling them.

Every time I hear of wild cockatoos flying around outside, it just amazes me. I know that sounds a little silly, but it's just so different to what I'm used to. Although, you'd probably think some of the critters that are around my place are weird/amazing too. :D

I need to travel more!

You got that right! I'd give anything to see a hummingbird. Or a raccoon. Or a squirrel. Or a moose. I need to travel more as well. LOL!

The very best thing about wild cockies (especially the white ones) is seeing a big flock of them wheel against a cloudless blue sky in the sun. They're so clean and dazzling, it takes your breath away and reminds you why it's great to be alive in this world. You really should visit Australia - we have zillions of parrots and they're everywhere! :D
