So I spent all day calling various people in various cities trying to locate a decent priced sun baby well one lady I had emailed said she didn't have any but she gave me the number of someone who did. So I call and ask her how much her suns are and she says 100 dollars! so I say thinking that sounds to good to be true "only 100 dollars!" and she says yeah for a 3 week old baby. I said what about weaned and she says she ONLY SELLS UNWEANED BABIES!!! starting at three weeks. I was like OMG that's so alwful just to sell them to any body like that! i didn't say that but was like thank you bye. Why do people do stuff like that!?! ok sorry that's the latest in my hunt for my baby:mad:

 I would of said it... how awful, I wonder how many of her "offspring" have lived to tell the tail

:( :( :( Prolly just in it for the money

OH I CAN"T WAIT to see pics of a baby sun i have been calling breeders and pet stores all afternoon may i ask what you payed for him or her?

Ok, so I am going to buy from a PetCo ... I have alreayd posted here about this ... I was torn, but I was also chosen ... here is my deal:

I live a long way away from any breeders (there are none in NEW ENGLAND IN THE WINTER [even though it is abnormally warm it was almost 70 yesterday ... in freakin' January ... seriously it should be 70 below] crap, I've digressed ... ) ... so I would have to ship a baby and I really didn't want to do that ... the general price that I saw for SC babies on the net from breeders was around $325 - $350 and then I would have to ship, another $150ish dollars ... so I was looking at a total of about $500 when all was said and done ... I am going to spend $550 at PetCo and I have had the chance to see this birdy eveyday and have kinda had a chance to bond with him/her which, I feel is worth the extra $50, plus, no shipping of babies.

Some would call me crazy ... some would call me crazy for buying at a petshop, but my gut tells me, this is ok this time ... but, I really don't care ... 'cause TUESDAY IS THE DAY!!!:D

go for it... I was in PetCo the other day .... and I wanted to bring ALL of them home *sniff* :( but I was told one was enough... tried to explain a flock with only two members is non-since, but alas I am not aloud another feathered friend.... you think he would notice another bird in the house? lol

Ok, so funny story about that topic .... when I started thinking about a "fid" the fiancee was like ... "no, we are not getting a bird" ... then it went to, "well, I will think about a bird - no, way are we getting a bird ... " and she has only gotten more attached as the days have gone by ... well, tonight, SHE whipped out the credit card to pay for some new toys ... I think SHE might even want a SC of her own ... I think we will have to wait and see how the first one works out .... :D

lol i kinda like the jenday coloring better but i will take what i can get:)

I was at a big Pet aviary the other day and they had suns on special! Unweaned as well, i would have taken one if there wasnt so many at my house already and if they werent so loud! I have experience on raising any kind of bird, raised all my tiels and my ringneck from 2 to 3 weeks. But i wouldnt recommend raising a parrot yourself if you dont have enough experience. Its bad that some people out there are still in it for the money, makes me so angry!!!

Good luck on finding a good and healthy, and WEANED baby, looking forward to seeing the little FID!!!:)

THAT IS AWFUL. Yep I am getting my baby grey unweaned, but I've had experience with hand feeding/raising. Definately NOT for anyone who is not experienced, there are so many things that can go wrong especially at that young age. Oh I would love to be able to speak to her, I'd give her a piece of my mind. Those poor babies don't stand a lot of chance really.

Stick to your guns Kelli, you will find your special baby soon.

I don't blame you, you will know the right baby when you find him/her. I'm still looking for mine and its been over a year:( but I know that somewhere out there is my baby just waiting for me to find him/her. I won't pay ridiculous amounts of money.
