Most of you know that I got Skittles last May from a rescue shelter that I volunteer at. So for the last 10 months, we have been together except one weekend that my son watched her. My son moved over seas and now we are going to visit him.
The shelter is going to watch her while I'm away, but one of the reasons that I have her is that she wasn't friendly towards anyone else. This is no way a slam towards the shelter, they are absolutely amazing. Everyone from the owner down to all the volunteers love Skittles but she is definitely my bird...
Any tips to make these two weeks good for Skittles would be greatly appreciated.
For those that don't know, Skittles was rescued by the police from a hoarder and taken to the shelter to be rehabilitated and kept as evidence...
She has been back to the shelter a few times when I have continued to volunteer there but no matter how friendly everyone is towards her, she only wants me.
On a positive note, she will let my daughter hold her and she is starting to be friendly towards my wife, so she is getting use to our home life. I just don't want to lose all of the recent progress we have made.
