Mana the manic female galah; yet to be named male corella
I have the opportunity to purchase a boy and girl handreared pineapple green cheek conures :D

My question is... does having a pair decrease their suitability as pets?

Will they be significantly louder?
Will they be cuddly still?

I am adoring the visions in my head of two little feather people playing and rough and tumbling :D

I love the idea of having a boy and a girl :D But dont want to end up with a problem LOL

If anyone has info that would be great, the "special" only lasts this weekend, then back up to regular price.

Im not sure about this, I would think it would be fine as long as they are in seperate cages.

First, yes! Two GCC's will be significantly louder than only one.
I purchased one and bonded and a year later I got my second GCC and then bonded with that one. It has been almost eight months and they are both ver cuddly. I love them both so much and could not live without them both! Another great thing of having two of them is they are able to preen each other which very much minimizes the amount of pin feathers they have on they head. If at all possible I recommend getting two males. If you have a male and female then you need to keep the apart unless you want them to breed. If you have two females they can still lay eggs but they will not hatch as they will not be fertilized but this will still make them hormonal. Two males is much easier and simpler.

I had one conure, then I got another about two months after getting the first. since then, I havent been able to have the first one as a friend, and the second one doesnt care to be around me either.
if they get separated even for a second or cant see where the other is, they scream non stop for each other.
but that doesnt take away from how lovely they are.
they are still my friends, even if i cant touch the two.
dont let their birdie romance make them seem any less desirable as friends and pets.
:)

Thanks guys :D

I made up my mind before I even read the thread LOL I had pretty much made up my mind before posting the thread :p The deciding factor being that my partner is not very tolerant of certain animal behaviours and I know he loves GCC so I decided to get over my idea of only having one bird ;) I decided I would get these two little guys and if my heart is set on a galah I can have one in the future when we own our own home :) Then I can set up an outdoor flight room and everything.

Piña and Colada will be coming home today! I can't wait :D

Cute!
I would keep them in seperate cages. I have two CAGs that have been in the same cage since birth, and they've become inseperable these past four years. I'm designing a double cage for them now, and I'm hoping that the cage will help with bonding because they are too busy loving eachother to love me :'(

Oh... thats no problem :| They both wanna be all over me anyway LOL
The female seems to be especially fond of me.

my problem was i thought i was smarter than everybody telling me to seperate them. they got along great so i caged them together.. i'd separate them now, but i've decided to just let them be. maybe they will breed in a few years.. one is a beautiful yellow sided and the other is pineapple
