It has been 0 days since my last bite from Elvis....

BUT! It was much much gentler and honestly, I needed to verbally correct him faster.

I believe we are getting a better understanding of each other and I know when he is about to bite. And he knows what "be good" or "no bite" is. Those phrases stop most bites and if not, then shunning definitely helps him understand that biting = no head scritches and good behavior = all the head scritches (he loves attention).

He is definitely like a human child and is testing me  Consistency is key

I love your attitude. You seem so at One with your darling, and with Nature in general.
You ALSO sound as if you are holding the line with commitment, correction and consistency. Don't stop, or you'll wind up with a monster like my monster!

I'm glad you're updating us.

This story reminds me of the eclectus that my late mother owned years ago. My uncle visited my mother and stayed overnight. The next morning he asked my mother, “Does your bird bite?”

“Of course not! Why do you ask?”😳

“I distinctly heard your bird say in your voice, ‘Don’t bite!’”

Busted! 🥴

That is funny! I read somewhere that someone had a (I think) conure and whenever he would do something that he knew he wasn't supposed to he'd go "noooo". So the owner knew he was misbehaving or getting into something he shouldn't

My CAG owner yells ouch before she grabs me. No it's not a bite. She simply grabs a finger, wrist, toe etc and yells ouch.
