Sun Conure- Jewel
Okay, So I have gone through the extensive lists of what tree branches can be safe to use for perches. Thankfully, I have a mulleberry and walnut tree in my yard and both are safe for use!

Here comes the weird question. Living in NW Ohio means that we have an very LARGE amount of White Tail Deer in the area. We also have a Boy Scout nature preserve only 5 miles from my house. On this preserve, hundreds of Deer have found sanctuary from the local hunters (not aloud to hunt on the preserve). Well, every year the bucks lose their antlers and they can be found laying around these woods. So, are deer antlers safe to use as toys or perches??

I don't know about for toys, but they'd be OK for perches.....deer antler is bone and I doubt your little sun will do much damage to them.....

If you find any with velvet still on them, you probably will want to remove that because I think the velvet will attract insects.....

I have used the shed antlers for toys. The parrots do chew them. They are rich in calcium . I cut them up with a band saw or other saw with a fine tooth blade. I use them like "beads" mixed with other toy parts. I have used them for perches but the older ones become porous and are hard to clean. I've also used things like marlin bills , oyster shell, clam shell, large vertebra from big fish, etc.

Capt, I now have this vivid image in my head of your property resembling a bone yard.
