Parrots
Alexandrine - Rio, Budgies - Blu and Tweety
Obviously taking my kid to our local pet shop was not a good idea. I came home with a pair of budgies. :D
I am so used to that big red in your face beak;) that the budgies so small and fragile. But oh my they are so full of energy. So some questions here. They are not scared of hands or humans so do teach them to step up the same way I did it for rio? Right now they are in the cage gave me but I have ordered a bigger cage but I would like if could have free flight time like rio. Any links how to go about it. Rio is trained on command to go in and out of his cage. So how do I go about it with the budgies? Next about diet the pet store gave me a grain mix which they happily eat . I have shredded some apple and pears but they don't seem to touch it at all. Is it ok? My only experience with parrots is Rio so I am quiet lost with the new members

I would highly suggest using sprouts for budgies, and shredded greens.

They are parrots. They are faster moving and usually not hand raised, but positive reinforcement is still the way to go :)

Looks like two cute boys!

They can eat a diet of 50/50 seeds and pellets, as well as lots of fresh and some cooked foods!

I'm not sure how you trained Rio, but I agree on the positive reinforcement training! :)
