Im soo hungry and I cant eat but at least had some coffee this morning.Well I can nibble but it hurts my jaws.So my conure is eating my muffin for me, she is loving it too.Apple/cranberry spice.
I bet Paco would like some too.
Sorry just a rant really.Going to the dentist is an ordeal for me.I hate hate hate going. Its not the pain, just the whole being trapped in a chair thing. With people pulling things out of my skull..
Plus I have severe TMJ and my jaw dislocates...

I feel for you, I hate the dentist too. I require sedation for the most simplest of procedures. Consider making some soup, letting it cool a little bit and having it through a straw? or have it in a cup :)

noooooo straw!!! you will get a dry socket! THEY HURT!
I just had 2 of my wisdom teeth pulled and the dentist told me "no straws" first day after I got my starbucks and wasn't even thinking, picked it up took a big gulp and sucked that blood clot right out. OMG worst pain ever. It hurt worse that when I tore my ACL. would rather do that 30 more times than have a dry socket ever again.
I do hope you feel better soon!!

Whoops, okay stick to the cup idea then. ^^

Ouch!

I haven't done a molar, but a front lateral incisor. The dentist told me I could go to work afterward. That sure wasn't true. It was bleeding all over the place and hurt quite badly. I had to change that gauze constantly all evening because it didn't want to clot. After the wisdom teeth I literally didn't eat for a week, although they had to cut jawbone to get them out as well.

After going through the whole broken jaw thing and then the surgery to rebreak it, I suggest Spaghetti-Os. They are about as soft as soft can get. You don't have to chew them, you can kind of just swallow them. Also ate a lot of yogurt and soup and other soft pastas. Pudding is good, too. Hot or cold foods might cause pain, too. You'll just have to see which if either you can tolerate.

OMg that dry socket sounds awful. So does the broken jaw:eek:..Mine was simple compared to all that.Of course the Vicoden helps..
I did make some mashed potatoes, extra creamy and added a handful of shredded cheese and it was ssooooo good.I didnt think of spaghetti O..I think I have some of those in pantry too(kinda old though)

Call hubby and ask him to bring you home some Spaghetti-Os, lol!

Oh, Ensure is good, too. It has a lot of calories in that little bottle and it's like a chocolate milk vitamin. So you get all the vitamins and minerals you need, don't have to chew and it's yummy.

thanks for asking Roxy.Actually Im much better.I heal pretty quick, but its still sore so Im not eating crunchy stuff yet.

Doris you better look after those teeth of yours other wise you will have to go through what i went through last year. I had my last 8 remaining bottom teeth out. Decided on implants with overdentures. From April last year to the week before christmas i was back & forward to the dentist. At least I had teeth so i could sort of eat Christmas dinner because i was so sick of soft foods for almost 9 months. Lucky i had no complications.

But yes I hate going to the Dentist, but i have to say my Dentist has a great bed side manner. He made me feel at ease through the whole procedure.

Yes, it was 9-10 months through the whole broken jaw thing before I could eat anything that wasn't soft as well. I was definitely quite tired of my choices. In fact I don't think I've had Spaghetti-Os since I ate so many of them.

omgosh i hate going to the dentist, i had to get a cavity drilled and i needed 3 shots of novicane + gass (but they had to inject me 9 times in my mouth), the shot was like someone punched me in the mouth, it was more of an ache than a sharp pain. i think i was also just freaked out by the drill. when they gave me laughing gass i started shaking my hips and doing a little dance lol! i hope you feel better doris, thats what birds are for :D, and us :)
